I bought this product on the strength of the reviews I'd read on Amazon. I bought it on the same day as I'd shaved my legs and had to wait a few days before putting it through its paces. Although the hairs on my legs were probably no more than about 1mm long, I thought it was worth trying, at least with the starter head.

Now, I'm a seasoned home waxer and pluck in between for maintenance, so my legs are made of pretty sturdy stuff, so this has to be considered when using the epilator for the first time and wondering if it will hurt. No two person's skin and pain threshold are the same. I could feel the epilator working and it felt okay, and no worse than my plucking exploits. After about 3 minutes, I felt ready to go the whole hog and get busy with the main head. I was absolutely amazed at 1, how many hairs it plucked out of my (seemingly not very) hairy legs, and 2, how quickly it did it! This is a really amazing invention. I didn't use the cool pack after because, as I say I'm used to waxing with no soreness problems.

Now, ladies of a certain age might like to cast their minds back to when they were little and it was still allowed for parents to smack their children. Remember the short, sharp slap around the lower leg after some misdemeanour? That naughty but nice sort of smarting feeling that lingered? Well, that's how my legs felt for 10 minutes after using the epilator, but without the red mark... If that rings your bell, this is the product for you! If you don't like walking around with hairy legs, then this is also the product for you.

I highly recommend this product. I usually shave as I can only bear to wax when I am due to go on hols. This product eliminates the need for both of those options.
I have used it on my legs, top and bottom. Like other reviewers I didnt bother with the starter head for long as the slight pain really is very bearable. I would say it is definetly less painful than waxing and a whole lot cleaner!
I have also used it on the bikini line but I waxed first and have just used this product to maintain since.
I havnt yet used it underarm so cant really comment on that.
The only negatives is that you do have to go over the areas a few times but once you have really done a good going over it is easy to maintain. The product is a little noisey but thats really just a small negative.
Once finished have a really good moisterise as it did make my legs a little dry, that will also help to reduce any ingrowing hairs.

After years of shaving nicks, waxing disasters, and anything else going, I gave in and purchased an epilator. Wish I had done it years ago!

This particular model is brilliant. The Starter Head is a great way to break you way in if you are in any way nervous, but like others, I found I had discarded it after 10 mins and moved onto the normal head. It really does work on short hairs too!

It also comes with a shaver head and additional attachment which allows you to trim the hair down to the suitable length before epliation begins.

The Cooling Pad also helps a great deal to reduce the pain, although I have to say it isn't actually all that painful. Only when the hair is quite thick is it uncomfortable as the epilator is ripping out more hair but as you carry on you'll find yourself at ease with the process.

I also found the hairs to grow in much finer meaning that the next time I used the epilator it wasn't sore at all!

Excellent way of removing hair. Not painful unless hairs are too long. Very quick, no mess and you can go over hairs you've missed again without any of the usual hassles associated with waxing.
Wish I'd bought one years ago but thought it would be very painful. Converted!!
