I was very impressed with this, i had always shaved and got one of because it had been recommended to me. I was a bit apprehensive at first because it makes quite a loud noise and ended up putting it away and leaving it. However i was feeling a bit more brave later on and ended up giving it a go and it really doesn't hurt at all. But i have only used it on my legs so im not sure if it would hurt more on underarms or bikini line. I fully recommend this item to anyone bored of shaving or fed up of waxing.

One small thing tho...i didn't get a cooling gel pad!!!!

Last time I used an epilator is when they sounded like a blender and was sometime in the early 90's so I was pretty scared! But after the super quick delivery of my Braun Silk-epil I couldn't wait to give it a go. Like the other reviews say it isn't the quietest thing in the world but its not really too bad. I'm not going to lie there is definatley pain involved but what a result! No mess, easy to handle (especially for the hard to reach places)and much more ecconomical than stocking up on wax. I raved about mine so much I'm ordering another one for my Mum!!!!!

Rating: - Not as painful as i expected!
recieved my epilator a couple of hours ago and had a go straight away... and its amazing! dont let the pain thing put you off its really not that bad. i decided to start with the stater head which has less tweezer things than the normal one and there was very little pain. the worst part was how loud it was. once i'd finished i realised i had actually put the wrong head on and used the normal one without even noticing, so that should give you an idea of the pain level! i was also to impatient to wait for the cool pack to freeze so im not sure how good that is but to be honest you probably dont need it. i think i've tried just about every method of hair removal and this is by far the best. there's no mess and its not particularly time consuming. i dont normally bother to write reviews but this time just had to let everyone know how good the epilator is, its a bargain price so just give a go!

Received epilator today and it was fantastic! Have managed to do underarms and both full legs in just over an hour or so. Keeping in mind that it did take longer to do as I was getting used to the product and how daring I could be! Great for me as I have light skin but dark hair! Hated waiting for hair to grow between waxes, and money works out as a good investment!

Easy to use and great results! Doubt i'll ever be waxing (spending lots of money and having to fit appointments in) again! All I can say that do a test first if you're not used to having hair taken out by the root and build yourself up or depending on how daring you are, go for it! But once you get used to it, it's great!

I was given this as a gift just the other week and as I hadn't used an epilator before and was somewhat sceptical in its apparent efficiency and more than scared to death of the impending pain....lots of people plus the reviews allude to a certain amount of pain threshold as a prerequisite. One thing I do not possess. The first time I opened the box and had a little try i put it right back in again. It was sore I felt, very unpleasant. However, I wasn't to be put off completely. After downing a few glasses of red, out with the epilator for another bash. Whether the wine had anything to do with it (I would assume so!) I did manage to do both legs AND have a go at the bikini line(what do you think of that then?!). After using the thing for a bit, you kind of get the feel of it and I found if you did short strokes it was a lot less painful. I attached the closer shave thingy and went over my legs again - there were certainly a lot of hair that was picked up by using this closer shave head. Brave, eh? There were some bits of my legs not liking this treatment one bit though, i have to say. Take a bit getting used to. I'd recommend it though, legs looking good
