Canon PIXMA MX870 Wireless Office All-in-One Printer (4206B002)  Rating: Rating:  - Very Functional PrinterI've had this printer a few weeks now and I am very happy. The picture quality is excellent - MUCH better than my HP Photosmart 2710 All-In-One. I had read in another review that the document quality was poor but that has not been my experience - my documents look good. I REALLY like the duplex feature. Other reviewers seemed to have had trouble getting this feature to work. I haven't had any problems - just select duplex in the print menu and it does it automatically. This printer IS a little slow. Out of the box, it seemed really slow but some tweeking in the menu has sped it up enough for me. If you need to print large quantities quickly, then this probably isn't the printer for you. I am a teacher and I print a lot of stuff for school and the speed of the printer has been nothing more than a minor nuisance. This printer is also a little on the big side but I think that is due to it having 3 paper feeds which is actually a good thing. You can have regular paper and photo paper loaded at the same time and the printer will automatically select the right one - you don't have to keep switching paper! It also has a top feed for the scan/copy function that will feed multiple sheets and correlate & duplex from that function as well. The printer also runs very quietly compared to my HP. I am not sure why others had problems with setup. It seemed easy - I had no trouble and was able to connect wirelessly to my network with no problems. Overall, I am VERY happy with this printer and would recommend it without reservation. Rating: - Finally! An AIO that just works!I bought this to replace an Officejet 8500 Pro that wouldn't fit on my new desk shelving. Since I was used to the way things worked with the HP, I was worried that I'd have a bit of trouble adjusting to the new. Nonsense. Everything worked straight out of the box. Even setup was flawless. The only major difference was I have to use the Canon application to scan, where the HP had TWAIN/WIA drivers and I could scan directly into Photoshop. This is no biggie, however. Just thought I'd mention it. WiFi setup was a breeze! All I had to do was connect the 870 to the router via the front control panel, then run the software on the computer. Canon is LIGHTYEARS above HP in this aspect. HP software is quite annoying at times. Print and scan quality are top notch just as you would expect from Canon. The only negatives, which admittedly are very minor, are 1.) Having to use the Canon app to scan and 2.)Speed. While it's not painfully slow, it takes a while to print once awakened from sleep. I have put this AIO through its paces and can definitely recommend this to anyone! Rating: - Very nice all in one Printeri bought this printer 2 months ago, and i can say it is a really nice machine. it easy to set up and you can make copies, scan, print and much more. it serve it purpose right. it is good for home not for office, also the quality of printing is really nice. You have color and black-white printer but overall it's product worth it money. Rating: - Easy set-up for both MacBook and XPSet-up was relatively easy: load the install disk and run the programs. Both the MacBook and Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows XP recognized the printer wirelessly through a 2Wire (ATT) router. Functions: printing, copying, scanning (B/W and color; one-sided or duplex) all worked well. Scanner resolution at 600 dpi looks pretty good, although scanning take a few seconds to process each pass. Quiet and looks good. For an inkjet printer, I've very favorably impressed after a few weeks of moderate use. Canon seems to make consistently good products in my experience (primarily with their digicams).
